Affiliate Disclosure
Last updated: October 4, 2026
This page explains how NovoltGear makes money, so you can judge our recommendations with the right amount of scepticism. It is written plainly, and it is updated whenever the situation changes.
1. The principle
NovoltGear is reader-supported. The way that works is affiliate commissions: when you click a link to a product and buy it, the brand or its affiliate network may pay us a percentage of the sale. You pay the same price either way.
That arrangement creates an obvious incentive, so we handle it with three rules:
- Every commercial link is labelled. You never have to guess whether a link is paid.
- Commission never changes a recommendation. We do not rank products by payout, and we do not add a product to a guide because it pays well.
- We say who should not buy it. Every guide names the reader who should skip the product. A recommendation that fits everyone is not a recommendation.
2. What is true right now
Our applications to affiliate programmes are currently in progress, and we have not yet been accepted into any of them. That has a concrete consequence you should know about:
As of the date at the top of this page, no link on this site earns us money. The links in our "Products Mentioned" sections point to the brands' own websites. We earn nothing when you click them and nothing when you buy. We would rather state that plainly than imply a commercial relationship we do not yet have.
When programmes go live, this page will be updated and the affected links will be marked as affiliate links in the page markup.
3. How to tell whether a link is commercial
Three signals, all of which will be present together once affiliate links are live:
- A label on the page. The "Products Mentioned" section carries a disclosure sentence in its own footer, and commercial articles carry a disclosure near the top, before any commercial link.
- A markup attribute. Affiliate links are marked
rel="sponsored", which is the standard signal to search engines. Non-commercial links userel="nofollow"only. - The disclosure sentence changes. While we are unpaid, the section says so. If that sentence ever says we may earn a commission, that is because we now might.
4. What we do not do
- We do not accept payment to include a product in an article.
- We do not publish sponsored posts or paid reviews.
- We do not sell placement, ranking, or "best of" positions.
- We do not fabricate testing, ratings, or review counts to make a product look better.
- We do not run advertising or retargeting on this site.
5. Prices and availability
We do not publish prices on this site, because we cannot keep them accurate. Prices, bundles and availability change constantly, and a stale price is worse than no price. Where a price would normally appear, we link you to the brand so you can check it at the source.
6. Product images
Product visuals on this site are original illustrations created by us to represent the product category and format. They are not photographs of the branded products and are not supplied by the brands.
7. Independence
Editorial decisions — what we cover, what we recommend, and what we tell you to skip — are made independently of any commercial relationship. No brand has approval over our content, and no brand has ever been shown an article before publication.
8. Questions
If anything here is unclear, or if you think a link is not properly labelled, tell us: hello@novoltgear.com. We would rather fix it than explain it.
